Napoli or Bust!
This morning we woke up and packed our things to leave Rome. We are headed to Naples for a couple nights. We Uber-ed to the train station in Rome and hopped on a high-speed train to Naples. We cruised through the countryside at about 185 miles an hour and it was very nice views all the way.
The train ride to Naples was very quick and enjoyable. We arrived and got a taxi to our apartment which is also very nice. It’s about one block from the harbor. We rested for about a half an hour, got settled in, and decided to find some food. We were just gonna have a snack and save ourselves for some pizza later, but then we found a nice restaurant after a short walk and decided to sit down and have a full meal.
We really haven’t been disappointed in the food. Jim and Kristi had pizza — Naples is the birthplace of pizza — while Marylou and Cliff had pasta dishes. Buon appetito!
After a leisurely late lunch we strolled around our neighborhood a little and got some groceries. We then headed back to the apartment.
We’ve been going pretty hard since we arrived in Italy and decided that today we need to take it easy. We stayed in the apartment for the evening and played some cards.
It also started POURING — lightening and thunder and all — while we were playing cards, so we made a good decision.
